Monica Szakos Cramer | President | Asset Preservation Strategies


Kristina R. Hess is the founding attorney of KR Hess Law, PC in San Diego. Ms. Hess is a Berkeley Law Graduate and worked at premier international firms prior to opening her own Firm in 2009.

As an experienced attorney with over 20 years of experience, Ms. Hess is known as the lawyer other lawyers hire for their estate planning – the highest compliment in the legal profession. She was also voted the best trust attorney for the San Diego North Coast in San Diego, 2015, 2017, 2019.

Ms. Hess is also the co-author of best seller, More Than Money: How to Leave a Lasting Legacy to Your Family.

Ms. Hess’ training and experience make her uniquely qualified to handle the most complex estate planning issues including:

- Probate and trust administration

- Charitable trusts and legacy planning

Ms. Hess graduated from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall) School of Law and earned a master's degree from the University of New Mexico, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

She is a member of the California State Bar, New York Bar, and a member of Wealth Counsel (the nation’s largest estate planning organization).

Growing up in San Diego County, Ms. Hess enjoys a full life with her husband, three sons and bonus kids and enjoys playing soccer, practicing yoga, cycle classes, watching her sons play football/sports, skiing, worship and of course the beautiful ocean. Kristina has volunteered as an advisory board member for the Boys & Girls Club Montessori School, raised funds for her local church, and has coached youth soccer.

Monica  Szakos Cramer joined  the Asset  Preservation  Strategies, Inc.  team  in 2011  and  specializes in  financial planning and empowerment through education. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration  degree  with a  Real  Estate emphasis  and  a minor  in  Accountancy. Her  expertise revolves around technical and fundamental investment analysis. This allows her to  take the  emotion  out of  investing  and focus  on  managing through  market  volatility. Monica is actively involved with the Asset Preservation Strategies, Inc. Advisory Board and leads the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. She believes that an effective client-financial adviser relationship  is  a partnership  and  requires open  and  honest communication  on  both sides.Monica is passionate about helping clients achieve freedom from worrying about money and investments. She completed the Advanced Wealth Strategist Planner Program and is endowed as a full Fellow of the Southern California Institute. She is currently pursuing her CFP® certification.
